The Myth and Reality of Psalm 22
Jan 23rd
The explanation for those who say Psalm 22 is a prophecy of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is that the Bible is not gospel truth. For instance I here mention just some elements in a local,* very rich mythological, far less literal mindset of the time:
- The writers of the stories of the crucifixion were Jewish. They knew this passage.
- Crucifixion was a common occurence and an analogy for ultimate suffering.
- There are messianic myths of suffering in the cultures from Greece to China, some of them uncannily similar to that of Yeshua, and they are obviously not about Yeshua.
- The culture was rich with human sacrifice and other extreme violence took place in the ongoing mayhem of sectarian rationalizations preceding 1000 BCE.
Remember both David and the writers of the New Testament were suffused with these kinds of stories and ensuing events. They were infused with these kinds of stories as infants, children, teenagers, and young adults in formation of their mental maturity. Their minds simply did not work like our minds, so we ought to be careful to project the way we would think onto him. Anyway, it is clear to me that believers are bending Psalm 22 to their own beliefs.
* I mean here that the mindset of David’s time, 1000 BCE was more blatantly mythological, but only because they had generally not yet axiomatized or subsumed/embodied the mythology. In contemporary civilized reality, myth has grown to such proportions that is has perceptually become as solid as the earth. It allows for the illusion of a far more organized and definitive abstract reality. Myth has become metaphysical, or subjective, making constructed civilized thinking seem objective or representative. It frames the very sophisticated mechanically rational cognition of common meaning making, and learning and maturity development. Yes, we seem to be more rational, but it is absolutely fake, essentially because of the way the fantastically established, axiomatic concept “reality” arranges it.
Creating Creators
Jan 21st
We could explain the universe as cyclical growth from virtually nothing. We cannot know a possible collapsed complexity preceding that. We also cannot know if our universe takes place in a slightly open multiverse process. Yes, in our universe we do perceive knowledge as preceding fulfillment, but we also perceive fulfillment as preceding knowledge. It is utterly futile to identify a first cause in the emerging and evolving cycles of cause and consequence.
Denying this is at the root of civilized delusion. “Creation” by an omniscient mind is absolutely redundant. If you say that such immense complexity needs an omniscient creator, then surely the even more immense mental/spiritual complexity of a creator would also need a CREATOR? Yet the first creator is already omniscient? Come on.
Seniors In the Way
Jan 21st
Some corporations select to give older people the golden handshake.
Merely the pathological corporation? No. Technological singularity? Yes. The problem with the 50 year old model in danger of losing its job is it thinks and writes from the perspective that “human” still dominates. The exact mechanisms are complex, (ontological and epistemological) but the demand for machine mind is so powerful now in the singularity, younger people are simply better at the ultimate transformation underway. Stop bending over, get your crinkly ass out of gear like me, turn around, get organic and screw the machine. Wake the children up.
Note: This is a matter of some abstractions giving way to others. For instance, while seniors may be more productive, it is not about “productivity” as much as it is about “progress.”
Fairytales are Fantasy
Jan 18th
Imagining non-existing certainty leads to delusionally identifying ourselves with everything. We can feel certain in the fake reality of imaginary abstraction. It can be whatever we want. We can identify with god/cosmos/abstraction to the point of thinking we are standing in its stead. We imagine becoming it. Demanding certainty unlocks infinite potential and blindly accelerates the change of our environment which equals human extinction. If not by violent death directly, then through transhuman replacement. Only believing in human existence can sustain human existence.
Looking for certainty drops us into infinity because nothing is certain but infinity. Infinity exists only in fairy tales.
If we are mortal, imagining and wanting certainty is not innocent. It is utterly delusional and fatal to our species. Imagining certainty forces shamanism to sell the lies of immortality, permanence, timelessness, universality, and abstraction as sacred and the particular, concrete, transitory and practical (at human-existential level) as profane.
Therefore civilized reality is a fatal fairytale. It is an atrocity. People actually believe in God because He is supposedly Permanent. He is Permanent because shaman fairy tales have from the very rise of language made us believe in certainty. This whole process, through the primitive rise of tens of thousands of years since fluent language, and thousands of years of civilization, is the machine and human extinction pulling itself up by its own bootstraps.
The human search for existential certainty through abstraction of language inevitably slips into the ultimately universal extreme of the term: language inevitably makes us believe in the existence of the universe instead of in our own existence. Sadly, humanity not recognizing these kinds of natural ontological distortions of evolving language is destroying human-existence and achieving the opposite of human-existential certainty.
“God” is Machine.
Jan 18th
I am not against language whatsoever, but against the human destructive way it has evolved. Things are at their worst when, as soon as you start becoming aware of the farcical delusion of your certainty, you cover it up with deliberate farce.
The epidemic is civilization. The disease is shamanic language. The pathogen is discrete concepts or memes. The evolutionary beneficiary of an increasingly pathological humanity is the machine. The beneficiary of transhuman species extinction is the machine. It is not this kind of “man” or that kind of “man” or “man” in general. The problem is chronic rhetorical certitude. We all parade around self-defined like #$%@ little shaman-gods. It is rubbish. We are human children and we have nothing but our existence. “Self-defined,” here means “machine-mind-defined” The civilized are parading around as machine-mind-defined shaman-god zombies.
Most have heard about the “moment of now” guru ideal. In the context of universal, timeless and abstract theory-as-reality (i.e. God is Real and every discrete concept is representative) and science-is-sacred, it is the final stage in human machine mind human AI conversion. It is a flight from the particular, the concrete, the transitory/timely and practical. It is the final submission to whatever happens. It is the final submission to shamanic language: to abstraction and imaginary timelessness and everlasting life. It is the ultimate dystopian delusion because it is a pathological sucking up to and completion of imaginary certainty. Yes, I know this is not clearly stated yet. I will get it down soon. It is about human existence, and naturally timely, particular and practical human animal intelligence undistorted by the sick universal, timeless, abstract definitions of civilization’s shaman language.
These ideas while critically reading paper back version of “Cosmopolis,” Stephen Toulmin, p75, 76.
Civilized reality cannot define human rights. When it says “human rights” it is ignorantly talking about the right of the machine to express in humans as human … which has always been the same atrocity of shaman reality in a cyclical action of pulling itself up by its own bootstraps since the emergence of fluent language in humans.
The language you think you are using representatively of human existence is as an evolutionary force unconcerned about anything but its own existence (as machine). Unless you use it with strong awareness of its singularly open potential for clandestine human destruction and extinction, your use of it is human-existentially delusional, because you then are using it machine-existentially.
Haiti
Jan 18th
I am sick of humanity’s chronic and universal delusion. For instance I am sick of the pathologically delusional comments disguised as humanitarian sensitivity about Haiti’s earthquake. Haiti’s problem is not any lack of civilization. Haiti’s problem is civilization. Haiti’s problem is the same fundamental problem underlying all atrocity. It is the boundlessness of the twisted rhetoric of delusional certainty in every Haitian’s civil rationalization about symbolic and abstract meaning and in every journalist talking head and paternalistic politician talking about Haiti. Post earthquake Haiti at the beginning of 2010 is civilized machine-mind humanity in a tail-spin. It is artificial intelligence humanity feverishly rebooting a small section of its dismally dystopian programming. Unfortunately the righteous rebuilding process will be rooted in the same delusional principles as before, with even more abject certainty.
This epidemic of what is essentially human extinction continues because we chronically misdiagnose the disease. The disease is not humanity. It is the machine.
Human-Existential Questions
Jan 18th
Think of the dynamic intelligence of animals totally unspoilt by civilization. Imagine the exceptional particular/local, timely and concrete human-animal intelligence our ancestors had just before evolving the ability to speak fluent language, without the endless BS stories. “Particular/local, timely and concrete” meaning “human-existential.”
What if the actual evolution of language has been for the sake of the evolution of language itself, and fundamentally human-existentially destructive? What if the strongly abstract, universal and timeless kind of intelligence of civilized minds is a dismally impoverished kind of human-existential intelligence?
How is the kind of language we use wrong? What is a kind of language that would sustain human existence instead of driving it into transhuman extinction? The kind of language we want is a language that enhances the natural human-existential intelligence of a vibrant human animal, instead of subjecting human existence dismally to the existential dynamic of language/technology.
The Natural Selection of Ignorance
Jan 6th
I have to warn those who think I have a way with words. You are in disagreement with most.
Nearly everyone selectively thinks my poor words are conceited rhetoric. I say, “selectively” because in their naturally selected ignorance they really believe they can invalidate any obstacle quickly. In their just-so-bent engagement they are mechanically evolved blind to humanity’s collective enslavement to the most incredibly conceited rhetorical process: civilized normalization, or maturing as rational machines. Reality bristles with logical phrases like “God exists.” or “Jesus saves me.” And I mean logical. The terrible beauty of logic is that it doesn’t in the slightest have to be true to be believed to be true.
